2026 Wildfire Season - Drier, Bigger, And Just Getting Started

Massive Wildfire 2026

What we are seeing unfold across the nation right now is not an anomaly—it is precisely what predictive modeling projected late last year and it's just getting started.

The numbers and narrative driving this year's wildfire season are staggering:

1.5M+ Acres Burned: Over 1.5 million acres have burned across Oregon and Washington alone. Nationwide, 25,000 wildland firefighters are currently engaged on active incidents.

Active Expansion: New starts near McCall, ID, and outside Missoula, MT, signal the rapid eastward and northward expansion of extreme fire behavior.

Escalating Legal & Financial Accountability: The Minnesota DNR is suing a 28-year-old man for $4.3 million in fire suppression costs stemming from a smoldering fire that escaped on a red-flag day. In California, the man convicted of starting the 429,000+ acre Park Fire faces up to life in prison following his arson conviction.

Global Record Breaking: Internationally, France has officially set a new record for total acres burned in a single season.

As extreme fire behavior continues to strain resources and put wildland crews in increasingly dangerous positions, the need for scalable, early-stage intervention technologies and enhanced right of way defense has never been more critical.

Thinking of all the incident management teams, engine crews, and aviators currently on the line. Stay safe out there.

The Paradise Fire changed my life. I saw firsthand what runaway, wind-driven ignitions do to communities — melted engines, towns turned to ash, and families with minutes to escape. Since then, my mission has been to help bring real, deployable, scalable wildfire solutions into the hands of those who need them.
